Child Lung Health Study
We would like to investigate whether events which happen in pregnancy or early life contribute to the development of asthma in children whose mothers have asthma
Who is the study for?
This part of the study is open to children whose mothers participated in the Breathing for Life Trial during pregnancy.

What appointments will I need to attend?
We will then contact you to arrange follow-up of your child around the ages of 6 weeks, 12 months, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years and 6 years.
What's involved in the study?
Study Visits
6 week visit
We would like to conduct some breathing tests on your baby while they are in a non-sedated sleep. We will also collect urine and stool samples and a swab from your baby’s cheek.
12 month visit
We will perform a clinical assessment of your child and conduct a skin prick test to assess allergic reactions. We will collect urine and stool samples and a swab from your baby’s cheek.
2 year visit
At your child’s 2 year nutritional assessment we will ask you to complete a respiratory questionnaire.
3 year visit
At your child’s 3 year nutritional assessment we will ask you to complete a respiratory questionnaire.
4 year visit
We would like to conduct some breathing tests on your child. We will also perform a clinical examination, skin prick testing to assess allergic reactions, collect swabs and urine and stool samples. A respiratory questionnaire will also be completed during this appointment
6 year visit
We would like to conduct some breathing tests on your child, we will also perform a clinical examination, skin prick testing to assess allergic reactions, collect swabs and urine and stool samples. A respiratory questionnaire will also be completed during this appointment

Medical Records
We would like to access your child’s medical records to obtain information about hospitilisations during the first year of life.

Questionnaires
We will ask you to complete questionnaires when your child is 6 months, 12 months, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years and 6 years. These questionnaires will ask about factors related to your child's respiratory health.
